Vehicle History
LMS169W was new to Midland Scottish as MRF169 in October 1980, at Cumbernauld Depot. In June 1985 she became Kelvin Scottish F169, staying at Cumbernauld Depot (it was transferred to the new company Kelvin scottish which itself was created from the North Glasgow operations of Midland and Central Scottish). In August 1986 she was numbered 1537. In September 1986 she was sent to work at Milngavie Depot then in October 1986 she was sent to Kilsyth Depot then was transferred back to Milngavie Depot in September 1987, and then returned to Kilsyth in the November! In August 1988 she was transferred to Old Kilpatrick and stayed there, and became Kelvin Central 1779 in July 1989.
By August 1989 she had been allocated to the reserved fleet and then fully withdrawn in September 1989. She was sold to Western and became R389 and was allocated to Johnstone depot by November 1989. It had become a member of the Clydeside 2000 fleet by October 1991 where she was numbered 869 and was still at Johnstone. By January 1993, 869 had been transferred to Thornliebank and was sent back to Johnstone in July 1993. LMS169W was withdrawn in May 1996 and sold to Fowler, Holdbeach Drove by July 1996. The vehicle stayed with operator until March 2003 when she was sold to Emblings, Guyhirn. She did not last long with this operator, having being sold to Wilbys, Hibaldstow in January 2001.
LMS169W stayed with this operator up until May 2007 when she was sold to Donald Scott for preservation. She had been withdrawn since 2005 with a head gasket failure although this will be fixed soon. She will be restored back into Kelvin Scottish livery in the near future.
